All ballet classes will work through the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus with the aim for students to be learning age appropriate classical technique. We begin our classical learning from 18 months of age, following the Dance to Your Own Tune (RAD) syllabus right up to Advanced RAD courses.

From Grade 2 ballet students will be offered two ballet lessons a week. The A class starts with learning the set grade syllabus then moves into concert preparation. The B class will be solely focused on RAD examinations. If your child is doing one class per week, they will be enrolled into the A class. We do strongly encourage students to do both ballet classes so that they are able to get the most from their classes.

Ballet Examinations: Royal Academy of Dance Examinations and Class Awards are available for students from PrePrimary Ballet and from Grade 2 available to students who do two ballet classes a week. Students wishing to participate in Royal Academy of Dance Examinations will be required to attend above 90% of their ballet classes and must be practising their ballet exercises outside of set class hours. As the exams get closer we will evaluate each student to make sure that they are prepared and confident going into the exams.

Uniform: Students are expected to be in uniform when they attend their ballet classes. This includes turning up to class with their hair done correctly. Uniform lists will be provided to you once your enrollment has been confirmed. All uniform pieces are available at Assef’s.
